Wheew! What a year it’s been! After a lot of thought I’ve decided to transfer to a new school on the central coast of California. So far I love San Luis Obispo, but who wouldn’t?? According to Oprah it has just been named the happiest city in the United States, can’t beat that!!
So since I’ve been enjoying the sunshine and catching some rays on the beach, yes even in the middle of winter, I decided to try out Summer Resort Mogul. This game will definitely get you excited for the warmer months to come. The music and overall theme of the game make me long for those care free summer days when schools out and my swim suit is on!
The game starts with an interesting introduction and back story. I won’t give the whole thing away but let's just say it pays off to be nice to those wealthy relatives! The introduction not only gets you excited about the story line, it also does a good job of explaining the premise of the game, building that resort! On top of this, there is a little added friendly competition, as you’re competing against your cousin for control of the resort and the always important bragging rights. The game does a nice job of using a meter and icons to track the progress of both you and your competitor.
Right from the first level the game gets you hooked! Each level builds upon the last presenting a healthy, but not too high of a challenge. There are both goals to reach, increasing in each level, and a timer to beat in order to obtain either gold, silver or bronze awards. I will admit that winning the gold trophy is not just a day at the beach. The first few levels I completed only landed me on the bronze level. However, it is this very challenge that keeps you coming back for more after each level.
In addition to the thirst for gold, I found myself hooked on the game to find out how my resort would progress. Each new level allows you to add another element of managing the resort. While the first few tasks may seem simple, the difficulty increases with billboards, swimming pools and endless other amenities.
Well I’m off to enjoy some more sunshine, and a bit of school work too! Good luck on this game, I know you’ll be hooked!
