You’ve waited long enough, Free Realms fans; Sunstone Valley is finally rolling out! This particular expansion to Free Realms (first announced back in 2009) is more than just added geography – whole new gameplay mechanics will be introduced. The Gloam Invasion, coming to a Shrouded Glade near you next week, is the beginning of this new chapter for Free Realms. These quest chains will eventually lead you into the new territory of Sunstone Valley when it debuts at the end of the summer.

Free Realms is a browser based, free-to-play casual MMO that’s fun for kids and adults alike. Decorate your house, invite your friends over, dress up your pet, and battle monsters for lost treasure! At this year’s E3 Conference in Los Angeles, CasualGameGuides.com had the pleasure of interviewing Harvey Burgess, the Free Realms Producer at Sony Online Entertainment for an inside scoop on the exciting new expansion to the game! [[Free-realms-screen-shotA.jpg]] Once the player crosses into Sunstone Valley, they will be introduced to the native population of Druids as well as the stranded foreigners, the Biker Dwarves (see a Biker Dwarf below). Players will need to choose a faction and Harvey mentioned that eventually PVP elements will be coming, although PVP will not be available initially. The other dramatic change is that enemies are no longer relegated to instances – they roam free in Sunstone Valley and can attack at any time – so be sure to group up with your friends when you visit. New mini-games like Spot the Difference (take notice Hidden Object fans), and the recent addition of the “Bat Mount” (yes, you can fly around on a bat – it’s awesome), shows this game continues to be responsive to its player base and continues to differentiate itself in a spectacular way!
