Back before I had Max, I used to be much more into fashion. I loved shopping for clothes and wearing the latest trends. Now I just grab whatever is clean and convenient to wear, which usually just ends up being a t-shirt and jeans. This is what drew me to try playing Fashion Boutique. Since I haven't had the energy lately to put into my real life fashion, maybe I could enjoy dabbling in virtual fashion. As I started out playing Fashion Boutique it seemed similar to some other time management games that I have played but I soon began to discover lots of fun and clever twists!
First of all, there is this fun comic strip plot that develops throughout the game and how you play it will determine how the story ends. Basically, the main character, Maya, spends two weeks at a store to try and improve their sales and help keep the store from closing. After those two weeks she moves on to the next store in another city. As you progress you can unlock new clothing items for Maya to wear. I had fun dressing her for what I thought would fit with the city she was in and the type of store she was working at. At the end of each work week, you can choose what activities Maya will do for the weekend. Your choices for the weekend affect how the back story develops.
There are also some fun mini games integrated into the game. One of them is trying to dress Maya for some event before the time runs out. And the other is a hidden object game. You can also just spend time in Maya's closet trying different outfits on her.
I really enjoyed playing Fashion Boutique, and though it was definitely easier to dress Maya than myself, I felt a little more inspired to move my fashion limits beyond just my usual t-shirt and jeans.
