It's time to rustle up some organic grub in Burger Bustle: Ellie's Organics, a high speed cooking time management game that will have you saying "Can I have some more please?" Wait. What happened? Where did the time go? I was sure it was afternoon when I was learning how to serve up hot delicious digital burgers with all the fixings in Burger Bustle: Ellie’s Organics. So, can someone please tell me why it's dark outside, and why my dog is looking at me like "are you ever going to get up and play with me mom?" Yeah. It was that kind of game. From the moment I laid eyes on that dirty old rat of a man Mr. Gristleman, I knew the demand for Ellie's burgers was going to be high. Apparently Ellie's former boss, Mr. Gristleman, was deliberately serving cheap food that was loaded with harmful chemicals. So she quit on the spot and decided to start her very own restaurant instead – a place that only served healthy and organic food to the hungry public. The beginning stages of this game put you off guard a bit. They are fairly easy and give you a false sense of security that Ellie’s Organics is going to be a breeze. But, before you can even finish that yawn, you realize… hey, I just finished that level, and I didn’t get my gold trophy… in fact… I didn’t get my silver trophy either. And, if you’re anything like me, when it comes to these kinds of time management games, you will replay the level over and over again until the gold is yours!!! I know… it’s a sickness. I can’t help it! My precious!!! The gameplay for Burger Bustle: Ellie’s Organics is pretty similar to other cooking time management games like Diner Dash, so if you’re an obsessive fan like me, you can jump right in without too much hand-holding from the tutorial. [[Burger-Bustle-Ellies-Organics-Review-02.jpg]] Customers come into the restaurant, look at the menu, and then tell you what they want by that vague confusing bubble above their heads… is that a burger or a fish sandwich? Do you want tomatoes or ketchup? Why can’t I figure out what you want?! After you waste precious seconds deciphering their order, you can start cooking away by clicking on the appropriate station. And here comes the challenging part… the sheer number of stations you can acquire and the variety of food is pretty amazing. It can easily distract you from the goals of the level you are playing because you might not need to have 3 different dessert stations – tempting as it may be. Too many stations can detract from your time because you need to make sure you have the staff to maintain them. Otherwise, you have to keep moving your staff around to fulfill orders, and that is a huge waste of time. This was a real pitfall for me. I was too distracted by all the cool things I could get that I wasn’t paying attention to the goals of the level. That’s when I started having trouble achieving my previous gold trophies. So do yourself a favor… pay attention to the goals! Just because you can have an ice cream maker and a cotton candy maker… doesn’t mean you should if the level only requires you to serve 3 fish sandwiches… doh! [[Burger-Bustle-Ellies-Organics-Review-03.jpg]] The graphics for Burger Bustle were cute and cartoony. Bright and vivid colors danced across the screen in a nice primary color palette that was appropriate for the game. They did an especially nice job on all the artwork for all the different kinds of foods you can serve. It was enough to make even me start craving a burger, and I’m a vegetarian! What’s my one complaint? You know I always have one… and for Burger Bustle: Ellie’s Organics, it was the voices of the customers. While it wasn’t a fatal flaw, it registered on the annoying scale with me. At first, it was kind of cute that the customers would come in and say quirky things like “it’s better than prison food” or “I come for snacks.” But, after playing level after level of this game and hearing the same sayings repeat OVER and OVER again… it begins to drive you a little crazy. So, my suggestion is that once you’ve had your fill… turn the volume off. The sounds and music weren’t anything special so you don’t need to hear them to enjoy the game. Overall, Burger Bustle: Ellie’s Organics was a pretty intense cooking time management game that’s sure to satisfy even the most picky time management gamer.
